A Digital Overhead Projector Makes It Easy

The digital overhead projector is a widely used form of multimedia by companies and even educational institutions. An overhead projector is another form of a slide projector that is used to show images to audiences. This is the predecessor of the digital overhead projector considered as the replacement within the 21st century. Before, the projector had a large box that had a bright lamp, where a fan was installed for its cooling purposes, then on top of the box, there was a lens which normally transmitted the image that the box was illuminating then bounced it back to the screen that could have been either a white curtain or a white painted wall, however nowadays, they are now using a tarpaulin.

The technology of an overhead projector during the olden days is very simple and might say crude as well during those times yet still causes projection compared to the modern day LCD or DLP projector. In the modern day counterpart, they use an arc, which is brighter and more durable than the conventional light bulbs that they used before. The only setback to this technology is the warm up time it takes before it can project the image. But when it comes to its versatility, it is truly adaptable to every medium. It is capable of being connected directly to your desktop, laptops, camera or any video player in which output is being transmitted by your ordinary RCA jack connection or USB connection, which is the universal type connection. With that capability, it eliminates the tedious task of transferring your presentation from one type of material to another in order for the projector to display the images that you are playing for your audiences.

The pioneers in manufacturing the overhead projectors were 3M and Xerox, but now there are already a lot of manufacturers of digital overhead projectors in the market. The companies that initially ventured were Mitsubishi, NEC, while 3M stuck to the old type of overhead projectors. Then some manufacturers followed suit and mostly are computer manufacturers such as Brother, Toshiba, Epson, and Hewlett Packard. Now there are 15 major players in the market including IBM. Samsung, Infocus, Benq, Viewsonic, and Sony are some of the major players. In line to that it made such equipment to be attainable for the public since you have a wide variety of brands and, which entails the price bracket as well, since if you are the branded type of person, you would definitely go for the icons in these industries, however if you are the conservative type, you would then prefer the generic type. Nevertheless, it widens the medium in which we can enjoy the visual aids that we need and its availability.
